Want to help researchers better identify how neuromuscular disorders like MND affect the brain over time?
Researchers from the University of Sydney and Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) are looking for participants to join their neuroimaging study. As part of the study, you'll have an MRI brain scan, cognitive assessment and possibly also a clinical assessment. You're eligible to join if you:
- Have been diagnosed with MND
- Are a healthy individual aged 50-70, have never experienced brain injury or head trauma, and have not been diagnosed with a neurological disorder
- Are someone who has been diagnosed with a neurological condition that causes muscle weakness or nerve dysfunction
The study will investigate how changes in the brain relate to symptoms using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and aims to improve understanding of neuromuscular disorders and their progression, particularly in regards to MND.
Researchers undertaking the study hope the findings will support the development of earlier diagnosis and better ways to evaluate the effectiveness of new treatments.
