Tracey and Ian Gale recently took to the skies, trying out accessible hot air ballooning and ticking a memorable item off Ian’s Bucket List!
“I wanted to share a wonderful experience we recently had — ticking off another item from Ian’s bucket list with a hot air balloon ride! To be honest, I wasn’t exactly excited at first, but as Ian’s carer, I knew I had to be there to support his adventure. The great news is that Balloons Aloft now has an accessible balloon, making it easy for Ian to hop in and enjoy the ride.
The Balloons Aloft crew were fantastic — caring, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble for them. We met up with the group at Peterson House and were then taken by minibus to the Hunter Valley Gardens, where we launched the balloon.
Floating up through the clouds and watching the sunrise was breathtaking! We landed in a paddock and even got to help pack the balloon away, while Ian and another lady relaxed and supervised.
Afterwards, we were bussed back to Peterson House for a delicious breakfast. The whole experience was made so much easier thanks to the crew’s compassion and helpfulness, right from the time of booking.
All in all, it was a fantastic adventure, and the accessibility made all the difference.
